About The Role

Bank Contract working as and when required - £9.50 per hour

We have an amazing opportunity for Bank Support Workers, working as and when required, to join our caring and support team at our Granville Lodge in Hartlepool.  We provide specialist residential and short break service for young people with complex life-long health conditions.

We believe Granville Lodge is a special place.  It is purposely small, just nine beds, and is located in an adapted Victorian house in a quiet residential street in Hartlepool.   Whilst the children staying with us have clinical needs, we have taken great care to ensure our centre still feels like a family home.  Children staying with us permanently can decorate their own rooms, just as they can at home, and we encourage our young people, wherever possible, to be part of the running of their home and to try out new experiences!

As a Support Worker you will:

  • A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young people
  • Assist the nursing team with assessments
  • Build relationships that are open and two way
  • Establish methods of communication, reducing barriers when necessary
  • Undertake clinical work-related tasks as delegated by senior nursing staff, following appropriate training
  • Assist with mealtimes where necessary
  • Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed
  • Communication any issues to the clinical team
  • Accurately report and/or record work activities
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience working within the care sector would be an advantage but not essential

About You

We can offer you:

  • Active Rewards – discounts on High Street stores, holidays and much more
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Flexible working opportunities
  • Wellbeing support and activities
  • Career development and first class training
  • Employee Assistance programme
  • Pension contribution
